Pontoon vinyl flooring makes summer on the water easier. It is durable and easy to clean, and spills rinse away instead of soaking in. Here is why boaters switch from carpet, which vinyl to choose and how to keep it clean.

Why choose pontoon vinyl flooring?

Say goodbye to soggy, stained carpet. Whether you are reeling in a big catch, hosting a boat party or cruising with kids, spills happen. However, they do not have to ruin your day.

  • Easy to clean: a quick rinse with your dock hose takes care of food spills, fish mess and dirty footprints.
  • Waterproof and non-slip: water stays on top instead of soaking in, and the textured surface gives you grip.
  • UV resistant: both of our vinyl brands are made to resist fading in the sun.

Which pontoon vinyl flooring fits your deck?

  • MariDeck 34 mil is for new, smooth decks.
  • MariDeck 80 mil is thicker, so it covers the nicks and low spots in an older deck.
  • MariDeck woven gives the look of teak or seagrass in an 80 mil sheet.
  • DuraVinyl is a woven vinyl with a felt cushion back, in striped, basketweave and patterned looks.

The 80 mil, woven and DuraVinyl floors all come about 8.5 ft wide, which suits most pontoon decks. However, 34 mil comes 6 ft or 8.5 ft wide, depending on the color. You can also compare all six styles side by side.

How to clean pontoon vinyl flooring

  • Quick rinse: use a light spray from your dock hose to wash away everyday spills.
  • Deeper clean: for pollen, dirt or stubborn grime, mix a mild soap such as dish soap with water. Then scrub gently with a soft brush.
  • Rinse and dry: finally, rinse off the soap and let the floor air dry.

Pick the adhesive by the brand of flooring

MariDeck recommends its own adhesive. If you use a different one, it must be PVC-compatible, or it can affect how the vinyl looks, bonds and performs. Of MariDeck’s adhesives, use MD-101 on unsealed plywood, or MD-102 on aluminum, fiberglass and sealed wood. For DuraVinyl, use 390 Professional adhesive instead. Our adhesive guide explains each one.
