Product Details

Boat carpet adhesive for fiberglass, aluminum and plywood

390 Professional boat carpet adhesive is a water-based, marine-grade glue. It bonds carpet to fiberglass and aluminum as well as marine plywood. Because it is water based, you do not have to deal with flammable solvent glues.

What this boat carpet adhesive bonds

It adheres to bass boat, fishing boat and pontoon boat carpet. It also works for dock, deck and raft carpet.

Using it with vinyl flooring

390 is the adhesive we recommend for DuraVinyl flooring. It is on the manufacturer’s list of recommended adhesives for outdoor recreational use. However, for MariDeck flooring we recommend MariDeck adhesive; any other adhesive must be PVC-compatible. Therefore, under MariDeck flooring, use MD-101 on unsealed plywood and MD-102 on aluminum, fiberglass and sealed wood.

What you get

  • One-gallon pail that covers an 8 ft x 10 ft area
  • Water-based formula that spreads easily and trowels on
  • Clean-Guard antimicrobial technology that protects against mold and mildew
  • Made in the USA

How to use it

First, lightly abrade aluminum and fiberglass floors, so the glue can grip. Then trowel the adhesive on. Keep the glue from freezing, because freezing may weaken its adhesion. Finally, allow several days for it to cure in a warm, dry area.

Lids, hatches and vertical surfaces

This boat carpet adhesive is for floors. However, for vertical surfaces, or to wrap lids and hatches, add our spray contact adhesive. For standard plywood installs, 290 marine carpet adhesive is the economical choice instead.
