Four pontoon vinyl flooring options
Each one comes 8.5 ft (102 inches) wide. Choose by the deck under it and the look you want.
New, smooth decks
MariDeck 34 Mil
The economical choice. It is thin and flexible, so it needs a smooth, flat deck, such as new plywood. Five colors come 8.5 ft wide.
Older decks
MariDeck 80 Mil
More than twice as thick as 34 mil. As a result, it covers nicks, dents and low spots, and it feels softer underfoot. Six colors.
Teak or seagrass look
MariDeck Ultra Woven
Exterior-grade woven vinyl, 80 mil thick, with UV stabilizers that resist fading. Eight colors.
Cushioned woven floor
DuraVinyl
Woven vinyl with a high-density felt cushion back. It comes in striped, basketweave and patterned styles, in 34 colors.

How to choose pontoon vinyl flooring
- Putting down new plywood? Any of the four works. MariDeck 34 mil is the economical choice for a new, flat deck.
- Keeping the deck you have? Choose MariDeck 80 mil or Ultra Woven. The extra thickness covers nicks and low spots that 34 mil would show.
- Want a woven look? Choose MariDeck Ultra Woven or DuraVinyl.
- Want cushion underfoot? Choose DuraVinyl, because of its felt cushion back.

How much vinyl flooring does a pontoon need?
Width. Every option above comes 8.5 ft (102 inches) wide, which fits most pontoon decks without a seam. However, measure your deck at its widest point to be sure. If the deck is wider than the vinyl, plan the seam where it stays out of sight, for example under the seats.
Length. Measure the deck from front to back at its longest point. Go by the deck itself, not by the model length of the boat. Then add extra, because MariDeck’s instructions call for the vinyl to overhang the deck on all four sides. We sell by the foot with a 5 ft minimum, and we cut every order to length.
Adhesive. Multiply the deck length by the width to get the square footage. The table below gives estimates for an 8.5 ft wide deck.
| Deck length | Deck area | MD-101 (unsealed plywood) | MD-102 (aluminum, sealed wood) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 ft | 136 sq ft | 2 gallons | 3 gallons |
| 18 ft | 153 sq ft | 2 gallons | 3 to 4 gallons |
| 20 ft | 170 sq ft | 2 gallons | 3 to 4 gallons |
| 22 ft | 187 sq ft | 2 gallons | 4 gallons |
| 24 ft | 204 sq ft | 2 gallons | 4 to 5 gallons |
Estimates use MariDeck’s coverage figures: about 125 sq ft per gallon for MD-101, and 50 to 60 sq ft per gallon for MD-102. For step-by-step help, read how to measure a pontoon deck for vinyl flooring.
Adhesive for pontoon vinyl flooring
For MariDeck, choose the adhesive by the deck, not by the thickness of the vinyl.
- Unsealed plywood, marine-grade plywood or pressure-treated wood: use MD-101 water-based adhesive. It needs a porous surface to bond, so do not seal the plywood first.
- Aluminum, fiberglass or sealed wood: use MD-102 solvent-based adhesive.
- DuraVinyl: use 390 Professional adhesive, which is what the manufacturer recommends.
MariDeck recommends its own adhesive. If you use a different one, it must be PVC-compatible, or it can affect how the vinyl looks, bonds and performs. Our adhesive guide covers each one.
Replacing pontoon carpet with vinyl flooring
If vinyl is replacing old carpet, the deck comes first. Here is the short version for MariDeck on plywood.
- Remove the seats, tables and trim. Keep the trim, because it secures the vinyl edges later.
- Strip all of the old carpet and adhesive residue.
- Check the wood. An older pontoon deck will likely need new plywood. In that case, MariDeck calls for 3/4-inch pressure-treated or marine-grade plywood, with gaps of no more than 1/32 inch between sheets.
- Roll on the adhesive and lay the vinyl a section at a time. Then let it dry overnight before the seats go back.

Pontoon vinyl flooring questions
Can I install vinyl flooring over old pontoon carpet?
No. Strip the old carpet and the adhesive residue first, so the vinyl bonds to a clean deck.
Is vinyl flooring slippery when wet?
MariDeck has an embossed, slip-resistant surface. However, any floor needs care when it is wet.
How do I clean it?
For MariDeck, scrub with warm water, a little mild dish soap and a soft deck brush, and then rinse well. For DuraVinyl, hose it off or vacuum it, and clean it with mild soap and a soft brush. Do not power wash DuraVinyl.
How long does shipping take?
Every order ships directly from the factory. MariDeck orders usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, and DuraVinyl orders within 2 to 7 business days. Orders over $75 ship free. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Canada.
What warranty comes with it?
MariDeck carries a two-year limited warranty, and DuraVinyl carries a ten-year limited warranty. Both come from the manufacturer. Learn how to care for your pontoon vinyl flooring and protect your warranty.
Can I see the colors before I order?
Yes. Order free vinyl flooring samples and compare them on your deck.
